The superintendent of the Miami Dade County Public Schools Alberto M. Carvalho was offered the New York City Schools Chancellor job. But, he has turned down the offer. The Mayor and the NYC school system we’re looking forward to bring the top and successful educator on board, but their attempt failed.
Alberto M. Carvalho announced his decision to turn down the offer of being the NYC’s Schools chancellor on live television. He made this announcement in front of the school board in Miami.
The meeting room that was packed to the rafters applauded and shared their joy when they heard Alberto announce that he decided to let go the offer of becoming the NYC’s schools’ chancellor. This announcement was not taken well by the New York City school system and the Mayor who were waiting for him to make the NYC schools popular in the country.
Alberto said that he was breaking the agreement with the NYC school system and has decided to stay on as the superintendent of Miami-Dade. His supporters had met with him for over three and a half hours at the Miami meeting room. They begged him not to go. This is why they were thrilled to hear his live announcement.
